dj masda ALIEN FAMILYでの7時間ロングセット
多くのファンに実現を待たれていた、国内でのdj masdaの7時間ロングセットがアナウンスされた。オープンエアパーティーDISTANCEへの出演や、レコードショップTECHNIQUEでのインストア、人気パーティTRESVIBESのメインゲストなど並べるときりがないが、帰国した10月、Contactで開催された自身のパーティALIEN FAMILY以降、日本のクラブミュージックシーンのトピックになるイベントから多くのオファーを受けてきた。これは圧倒的な違いをもたらす存在としての人気の高さを証明するものであり、国内シーンからの観点では世界で活躍する特別な才能の逆輸入、さらにはこの状況によって発生したロスの巻き返しを図るものとも捉えられる。dj masdaが一夜にわたって繰り広げる豊潤なエレクトロニックジャーニーは、ヒプノティックなディープタイムやウィットに富んだ世界観、独創的なサイケデリアなど、ダンスミュージックの魅力を深く堪能するものになりそうだ。めまぐるしい現行シーンの中でdj masdaおよび自身のレーベル〈Cabaret Recordings〉からのリリースは落差のあるブレイクや奇をてらったビートを排除し、ディティールの完成度や広いレングスのミニマル性、ニッチなファンクネスを含む、国内の主流とはかけ離れた独自の路線の探求を徹底している。そこにはフロアとスタジオの往復によるアップデートの繰り返しが重ねられた、クラシックなエレクトロやブレイクビーツ、ブリープサウンドが絶妙にフックされるフィジカルなトリップミュージックが展開されている。
この日はContactフロアでもALIEN FAMILYらしい興味深い仕掛けが施される。テクノの可能性を掘り下げることで新しい創造性を獲得したTommyと、ベルリンでの滞在から自己の音楽を確立したP-yanは、それぞれ過去のALIEN FAMILYやdj masdaのレジデントパーティMiddle of NowHereに招かれるなど厚い信頼をおかれている。加えて、ミニマルパーティSensationオーガナイザーToshikiと自身のレーベルを始動させたToreiという新鋭による違った視点をもつ優れた二極の交わりや、オーディエンスと呼応して偶発的なイマジネーションの爆発をみせるManahaとHitomiといった濃密な感性をもつ二人によるThe Antoinettesなど、強烈な個性をもった6アーティスト3組のB2Bは新しい産物を期待させる。
世界展開されてきたALIEN FAMILYが、ここ日本で次のフェーズへと進められる。

We are excited to announce 7 hour set by dj masda in Japan. an event many fans have been waiting for. Since his own party ALIEN FAMILY at Contact in October, he has been offered to perform for various events that became the topic of Japan’s club scene, including the open air party DISTANCE, in-store performance at the record shop TECHNIQUE, and a main guest appearance for the popular party TRESVIBES to name just a few. His popularity and high demand in the circuit goes to show that he is truly in a league of his own. From the perspective of the local scene, he reimports his extraordinary skills he has polished overseas back into Japan, thus giving him the advantage and the capacity to make up for the loss during these unforeseen circumstances. The mature electronic journey dj masda takes you on is deeply fascinating. Witty, hypnotic deep time, a unique and original sense of psychedelia, he will not fail to deliver and bring out the best in Dance Music. In the modern scene where things are rapidly changing, dj masda and the releases from his label〈Cabaret Recordings〉brings different variation of Breaks, stripping complex beats, minimalism that focuses on the details and the lengths, a niche in the circuit with funkness, immensely unique in his own right, and definitely far from the mainstream of Japan. He continues to update himself spending many hours on the dance floor and in the studio, going back to classic Electro and Breakbeats, and brilliantly fuses bleep sounds to construct a physical trip music experience.
Contact floor features selectors that hold true to the ALIEN FAMILY name. Tommy, a figure who explored the possibilities of Techno by digging deep in order to obtain a new creative output, will be joined by P-yan who established his sound during his stay in Berlin. Both entrusted DJs have played at ALIEN FAMILY and dj masda’s resident party Middle of NowHere in the past. Organizer of the Minimal party Sensation, Toshiki goes back to back with the up-and-coming DJ and label owner Torei. The duo The Antoinettes (Manaha & Hitomi), spontaneous with explosive imagination, will be completing the lineup making it 3 B2B sets comprising 6 artists.
The global party ALIEN FAMILY begins its next phase here in Japan.
