Since its launch, Katharsis has featured an array of domestic and international guests, all curated by residents Kannabi and Masafumi Take, whose mesmerising, pitch-black sets draw the dance floor into deep hypnosis. Amid the excitement around an upcoming debut split EP for their label of the same name, the promising talents celebrate the night’s second birthday, inviting likeminded overseas acts, Refracted and Reeko.
Refracted has gained a devoted following addicted to his incessant, foreboding, minimalistic slow-burners while Reeko is a prolific Spanish producer who has spawned hard techno tracks reminiscent of veteran Oscar Mulero. Also stepping up for the occasion is Mystica Tribe, a Tokyo-based producer whose dubwise performance deploys a harmonica to critical acclaim.
