The Amsterdam institution brings its A-team to Tokyo

Dutch record label Rush Hour has long stood as one of the finest outposts for house music culture anywhere in the world. With a sharply focused curatorial edge that pays credit to the roots of the music as much as the new breed, the label, shop and events empire has left a huge mark on the scene.

When Rush Hour come to Contact for a takeover, they’ve wisely got core label member Hunee front and centre on the Studio X floor. The producer and selector has won over crowds in every corner with his instinct for emotive, powerful dance music of every shade. Hunee will be joined by Antal, one of the Rush Hour founders who is equally respected as a DJ in his own right. Look no further than reports from his masterful closing set at this year’s 10th anniversary edition of Rainbow Disco Club.

In the Contact room, you can expect to find equal levels of skill, knowledge and passion from co-headliner Sassy J. The Swiss DJ has built up a formidable reputation for her impeccable taste, culminating in the recently announced Patchwork compilation on Rush Hour. J will be joined by Japanese house legend Shinichiro Yokota, the long-time collaborator of Soichi Terada on Far East Recording, who is enjoying a new wave of recognition via the Ultimate Yokota 1991-2019 compilation.
