Over 800 international artists and 2,800 local artists have been invited to play at Contact since its grand opening on April 1st, 2016.  Serving as a hub to link music freaks to the world by booking world-class acts just about every weekend, the venue with a prime location close to the station quickly became a part of Shibuya’s club scene.
For the final evening of Contact, we welcome Shackleton, a prominent figure in polyrhythmic tribal music, and Detroit House sensation Jay Daniel. Shackleton recently announced 「THE MAJESTIC YES」, his seventh work for London’s revered label〈Honest Jon’s Records〉, and his latest release in 4 years. Including his most recent work, he has released from various labels such as the prestigious label〈Perlon〉, and his own label〈Skull Disco〉exploring counterpoints of minimal music with complex rhythms, fusing his original style with tribal, dub and modern sounds, continuing to evolve and impact the electronic music scene.  The supporting acts to complete Contact’s ideal lineup in Studio X are 悪魔の沼 (Akuma No Numa), DJ mew, and Occa.  The perfect gathering of leftfield virtuosos that immerse themselves into the depths of electronic music.
Jay Daniel debuted on Theo Parrish’s label〈SOUND SIGNATURE〉, and since then has worked his way up to become one of top-class artists.  He constructs his sets with improvisational free-form rhythms, providing the highest level of House music intersecting spiritual elements with modern sounds that come from exceptional sensibilities.  Contact floor invites Moodman, Chida, EMARLE, and Akie, top-class acts in the alternative sector, to maximize the sonic experience laid out by Jay Daniel.
Despite the direct impact of the pandemic, we have been fortunate enough to continue for 6 years and 169days with the support of fans, artists, and everyone involved.  We sincerely hope that everyone enjoys the final night of Contact from the bottom of their hearts.
