MISSION feat. SG LEWIS

次世代の直球クロスオーバーサウンドを浴びる夜

幅広く自由な意識でダンスミュージックとポップカルチャーにアプローチしてきた80Kidzが、もっともその音楽性を発揮するパーティーがMission。5回目の開催となる今回のMissionがゲストに迎えるのは、イギリス、リバプールの成長株SG LEWISだ。Julio Bashmore、Jassie Ware、Disclosureといった才能をいち早く世に送り出した人気レーベルPMRからのリリースを皮切りに、SG LEWISはハウスの影響を落とし込んだポップ性を独自に確立し、メジャーレーベルとの契約を勝ち取るまでに成長。トラックに宿る重厚なエモーションと焦がれるソウルを表現するボーカリストをフィーチャーし、音楽性をさらに拡張していこうとしているいま、今回のMissionへの出演は目下躍進中の才能をその身で体験する絶好のチャンスだ。さらにこの出演ではContactという場所を意識して、SG LEWISのインスピレーションを受けている音楽やパーソナルなテイストが色濃く打ち出される予定だ。

A night of upfront crossover sounds from the next generation.

The 80Kidz crew are known for their broad-minded approaches to dance music and pop culture, and that’s no more evident than with the Mission events at Contact. For their fifth installment, 80Kidz are welcoming SG LEWIS, a promising producer from Liverpool, UK. Having started out on the respected label PMR (previously responsible for launching the likes of Julio Bashmore, Jessie Ware and Disclosure), LEWIS has since developed his own brand of house-informed pop music and secured a major label deal. Working with vocalists that reflect the weighted emotion and yearning soul of his productions, he’s struck upon a sound that has the potential to go far, and this appearance at Mission is the perfect opportunity to see a distinct talent on his ascent. Lewis will be DJing on the night, seizing the opportunity to provide a bit more insight into his inspirations and individual tastes in the context of the club.
