Music Of Many Colours

DJとダンサー達、個々の表現が混ざり刺激し合うパーティ

Dazzle Drumsが主催する、ハウス・ミュージックを軸にDJとダンサーがそれぞれの個性を表現し合うパーティ、Music Of Many Colours。2017年からコロナ禍においても立ち止まることなく開催を続けてきたが、第16回目のこの日がContactでの最後の開催となる。
今回は驚異的なスキルと選曲で全ての聴衆に「DJを聴く楽しさ」を伝える唯一無二の存在、DJ KOCO a.k.a. SHIMOKITAを招聘。その圧倒的なパフォーマンスを少しでも近くで体感してもらいたく、あえてContactフロアでの出演となる。また、アンダーグラウンドの質感を含ませた幅広い選曲で多くのDJの信頼を寄せるYO.AN (HOLE AND HOLLAND)、エナジー溢れるハウスやディスコを軸に高揚感を作り出すDJ SHIKISAI、明快なハウスサウンドをポジティブなグルーヴで提供するAIKO INOUEを迎え、レギュラーDJ Phenolが着地を演出する。
Foyerには90年代から活躍し現在は日本のバレアリック・ディスコを牽引するMax Essaや、ハウスを軸にしつつも耳に残る個性的なチョイスが魅力のユニットMagRena、テクノポップ/ニューウェイヴなどハウスの枠を超えたイノセンスなグルーブが魅力なKabeをゲストDJに迎える。昨年よりFoyerにおいてもショウケースの取り入れといった新たなコンテンツを実施し、Studio Xのダンスコンテンツとは一味違ったステージ上でのパフォーマンスをご覧いただきたい。パーティを知る彼等ならではの雰囲気に注目である。
Studio XはMusic Of Many ColoursのレギュラーDJ、Dazzle Drums、KENGO、SHOWHEY、HEAVENがハウスを中心に多彩なジャンルで一晩を構成。そして、Dazzle Drumsとダンサーが即興で作り上げる濃密なDancer’s Sessionは、今後の日本のダンスシーンの肝となるような若手ダンサーや、ダンスシーンをカルチャーとして更に成熟させていくセンスとパッションを持つ中堅ダンサーなどを盛り込み、総力戦で挑む。これまでもパーティに関わってくれたキャストが形を変えて、ステージを彩るショウケース、またこのパーティが他と一線を画す大きな特徴である「有機的なダンスフロア」を彩るFLOOR CREATION DANCERSとMachidaのLightingにも注目して欲しい。
東京のローカルシーンと密接に交流し、最先端とオールドスクール/インプットとアウトプットが混ざり合い色彩強度が増幅してゆく、そんな唯一無二のダンスフロア作り上げてきたMusic Of Many Colours。一つの集大成ともいえるこの夜開催を一人でも多くの人に体験していただきたい。

Music Of Many Colours, the party hosted by Dazzle Drums that focuses on House Music where DJs and dancers bring out their individual forms of expression to stimulate one another. Since 2017, they’ve continued to host parties relentlessly even throughout the pandemic. This night, their 16th installment, will be the final one to be held at Contact.
This edition welcomes the one and only DJ KOCO a.k.a. SHIMOKITA, a tremendously skilled turntablist shows the audience “the joy of listening to a DJ” with his fine selections. In order for you to experience his astounding performance from close range, we’ve headlined him in Contact floor. YO.AN (HOLE AND HOLLAND), entrusted by fellow DJs for his wide selections of underground sounds, the energy-filled uplifting House and Disco of DJ SHIKISAI, and the clear House sounds with positive grooves by AIKO INOUE have lined up as guests in Contact floor along with regular member DJ Phenol.
Foyer features Max Essa, currently a leading figure of Japan’s Balearic Disco scene who’s been active since the 90s, MagRena, a unit rooted in House whose unique choices linger in one’s ears, and Kabe, the innocent grooves that takes you beyond the frames of House fusing Techno Pop/New Wave, as guest DJs. In Foyer, in comparison to last year, will implement new contents and incorporate showcases. Enjoy the showcases performed “on stage” that’s a bit different from the dance contents in Studio X. Dance showcases will be performed by the usual suspects of this party. And, much attention should be given to the unique vibe they create through the understanding of this party.
With House as the focal point, Dazzle Drums, KENGO, SHOWHEY and HEAVEN, regular DJs of Music Of Many Colours, will provide a variety of genres throughout the evening in Studio X. Dancer’s Session, an impromptu session with Dazzle Drums and dancers, includes young dancers bound to be the backbone of Japan’s future dance scene, and experienced dancers with great passion and sensibilities who further matures the dance scene into a culture. The showcase involves casts that have been a part of this party, colouring the stage in a new form of shape. Unique to this party, like no other, is the「organic dance floor」created by FLOOR CREATION DANCERS and lighting by Machida.
By closely interacting with Tokyo’s local scene, Music Of Many Colours has managed to create a one and only kind of dance floor where the colours are intensified by merging the input and output of cutting-edge and old-school sounds. We would like as many people as possible to experience the culmination on this evening.
